In this video I talk about oil changes and just how important this maintenance item is for the lifespan of the engine. I go over changing the oil on my Toro ZMaster 4000 zero turn commercial lawn mower. This oil change, although not specifically performed on a vehicle, is very similar to that of an oil change on a vehicle. We deal with draining the old oil, the type and weight of the new oil and the oil filter. All of which are the same type of considerations with a vehicle's oil change.

Did the injector linked in description come with 2 injector or only 1?
Dont get so excited about oem AC Delco, that's all made in China. You have a valid ooint but your original parts likely will last much longer than the made to fail junk they sell now. I had an 1982 chevy truck that i had for 30 years and only changed the headlights, radiator, fuel tanks and water pump once. The battery lasted 20 years and every 10 years i knew the cam driven fuel pump would fail best vehicle i ever owned
Sea foam cleans the oil ring in the pistons think of it as a detergent
Incompetent much
Wow, rally, that's late
If you can find an ENVOY XL, buy it!!! Extra room and a 5.3L /4L60 just like in the bigger SUV’s! A rare find!
I’m going to do a little research because last I heard the 5.3 is a bit different in the Envoy than in the full size SUV GMT800. I could be wrong though. 🤷♂️👍👍
@@1RoadGarage Let me know, I have a 2003 Envoy XL SLT 4x4 with the 5.3L. Had a ‘98 GMT 400 Suburban and two GMT 800’s over the years. This Envoy XL is very comfortable and roomy. Don’t miss any extra room that may exist in the Suburban (we have a family of 6 adults, very roomy!)
Sea foam has light mineral oil in it and that's why it smokes but it does nothing to your engine as far as cleaning it and B12 is a heavy solvent and so it does clean fuel injectors and cleans spark plugs and some on the valves and I have used B12 for over 20 years and all that is needed is twice a year/every 6 months good stuff.
I watch A lot of or videos this one you really really right
If the dip stick is made of steel, I'm gonna try to magnetize it with two batteries.
I'd be cursing the engineers.
I can’t find the auxbeam 9006 4000 lumens anywhere on Amazon and your link is broken. Can you give any updated guidance in 2024? The new ones by auxbeam are 48000, 40000, and 10000 lumens. Sounds ridiculous and your 4000 seem more appealing. Also the new ones all have “silent fans” by auxbeam. Any advice you can give ?
Uh huh, I'm gonna take advice from someone too dumb to use a vise.
I
That's a totally insane price for those torsion keys
Thank you for making this video! I did the exact same thing! You saved my ass from doing it 3x! I also figured out a cool way to do this for one person jobs and made a video about it.
I put a teaspoon in my morning coffee. Really gets my motor running and brings me closer to Jebus!
I put it my tank and crank case, easy peasy, no problem, read instructions.
I drive an 18 year old BMW E60 when it needs fixed and that’s not very often my son drives a 15 year old TOYOTA LANDCRUSIER WITH 250 miles on the clock full service every 6 months and they both run fantastic
Great video. Thanks
Well just got a cb but I think cb has it's hay day in the 70s and 80s . I was on in them days , seems pretty much dead now.
There should be petcocks on the oil drain pan.
On older stuff this really does work. On ATVs it's a must use from my testing but I've always bought junk and made it run like brand new🤷
Only put motor oil in the crankcase. Fuel additives are ok for the fuel tank not the oil tank.
Kenny Loggins is promoting Seafoam?
Subscribed. Love your channel.
Motorkote has chlorine parrafins. Amsoil did a test with it and it grenaded an engine.
in fuel it’s great , in oil your wasting your money and possibly messing up good oil viscosity
Pro tip: put some clean rags to cover all the belts of the engine in case you spill some oil. Most belts will break during use very fast from even small amount of oil contamination. Remember to remove the rags before starting the engine.
GOOD STUFF!!
So much smarter to drive an older vehicle.....
I don't replace anything on a vehicle unless I have to because there's absolutely no guarantee a new part will be as good or better; and often I find things seem to last longer simply by keeping a spare. That's why I have two old vehicles as well. Use Murphy's law to your advantage rather than having it work against you spending needlessly to combat a fear of a failure. Aircraft and marine engines are another story. They can't call tow trucks on their cell phones. I mean really, you can use Murphy's law in reverse for anything. Can't find your ratchet ? You can look and look and not find it, but the moment you pull another out of the box and go to use it what happens ? Yeah ! That's what I'm talking about ! You don't have to actually prepare if you're already mentally prepared so to speak. I know it sounds crazy as S; but it damn sure works....so you don't have toooooooo....LOL
Perfect example how we've all been there. Brilliant FoolProof Practical Idea gone Sour.
235k miles so far on original axles on my 01 honda crv.
It’s also a fuel stabilizer for up to 2 years…
thank you Jimmy I used Pennzoil full synthetic platinum Racing 5W40 for my 5.0L Mustang that exceed OEM specification
I've never done it, never had a problem. Some oil remains in the engine when you drain it.
Pretty much any oil addative is BAD! Seafoam boils away before your fluids even get to temp. Watch The Motor Oil Geeks video on oil additives. He literally designs and formulates motor oil. Season bad. Its probably fine to add just before you do an oil change to break down sludge, but if you do regular oil changes, you shouldn't have any to begin with. All it does when you add it to you oil is dilute your oil and make it worse.
Magnets do work as evidenced by your demo.
Best video ever!!!!!!!
Lake Speed Jr proved this is a waste of money, burns off at 100°
Back in the 90s I remember watching a guy doing a bearing test with plain household bleach on those rotating testers and the result was better than Prolong oil additive. So are you telling me engine oil producers such as Mobil1 didn't figure out or those scam mpg&HP gadgets such as the Tornado fuel saver was something the car engineers didn't come up with😂. I have been using the cheapest oil on sale however, do on time oil changes and my car's never had a problem and lasted over 200K miles before I sold them.
Great advice!!!!!!
Rainx performs while driving at about 50 miles an hour without using wipers. The rain will travel up the windshield, keeping the glass clear of rain.
Sir I love your attitude. But finding dependable parts are getting scarce.
i dont see how steel wool is a finer step than clay
My oil changes are 5 quarts of 10W-30 for winter and one quart of Mercon / Dexron III automatic transmission fluid, every 5000 kilometers. For summer, I use 5 quarts of 15W-40 and one quart of Mercon / Dexron III transmission fluid every 5000 kilometers. Many disagree with this method. However, the vehicle I operate nightly has 720.000 kilometers on the odometer. It was bought new in 1996. When someone else has a vehicle with more kilometers on it and it runs great, they can criticise my vehicle maintenance and I will listen. Until then, I have no need to modify the way I maintain my vehicle. I have used magnets for decades on my dinosaur.
how did you address the broken clip?
it doesn't work for my chevy equinox I got the same key fob as you got
I use a little seafoam shortly before oil changes on older engines and a little in the gas every so oftenm Seafoam and MMO mix has freed up sticking rings when left soaking on the pistons and greatly reduced oil consumption on a couple engines.
